Essendon defender Jordan Ridley has been sent to Geelong, with the deal confirmed on 7 October 2026. The trade sends utility Jack Bowes to Essendon along with four draft picks.
Ridley had been long rumoured for the Cats after Essendon placed a high trade value on the defender. Essendon were not budging on their valuation throughout the trade period.
The completed swap gives Geelong an experienced backman while Essendon receives Bowes and additional selections. Bowes is capable across multiple positions who adds depth to the Essendon list heading into the upcoming year.
